A 100% sustainable handcrafted calendar made by and for swing dancers
Who is involved in the production?
❀ Samuel Gaudó (aka Samu) is responsible for the incredible artwork
❀ Ana carefully handprinted each calendar
❀ Imprenta Gallego (Órgiva) taught us their ways and offered their machinery
How is it sustainable?
❀ We carefully picked our paper, which is made exclusively out of recyclable fibers and produced locally in La Alpujarra.
❀ The ink used is made out of soya! Each print is completely biodegradable.
❀ Each sheet has been printed by waterless offset and then pressed individually.
❀ The wire used is made under the Saturnino-Luis Virto method, which is non-polluting.
Dance related?
The calendar is dance-oriented, including dance goals Ana and Samu want to work on 2021. The illustrations, however, do not depict a typical swing-dance aesthetic, and portray gender fluid characters.
New colors for a new edition
By demand, we decided to make a new batch, and to make it different from the first one.
This one, instead of having a monochromatic paper, has a beautiful olive-green or garnet red coating.
